Conditions of use

DOAJ uses a variety of licenses for the different parts of its website and the content in it:

  1. The DOAJ index consists of journal-level metadata and article-level metadata.

  2. The journal-level metadata is licensed with a CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The journal-level metadata is available:

  3. Collecting, using and reusing part or all of the journal-level metadata must be done in accordance with the terms of the CC BY-SA license.

  4. The article metadata provided to us by publishers, or fetched from EuropePMC, which we then process and display is availble with a CC0 waiver. The article-level metadata is available:

  1. Copyright of this site and the intellectual property contained in it is owned by IS4OA and defaults to all rights reserved unless otherwise specified.

  2. Reproduction of DOAJ content on this website is prohibited unless express permission is given by IS4OA.

  3. Except where expressly noted, no license is granted in respect of any intellectual property rights vested in IS4OA or other third parties.


Conditions of using this website

  1. Use of this website is subject to the following Terms and Conditions. By using this website you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions which form a binding contract between you and Infrastructure for Open Access C.I.C. (“IS4OA”), the company responsible for providing the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) service.

  3. IS4OA reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time without notice.

  4. You may only redistribute the content of this website or create a database, in electronic form or manually, by downloading and storing any such content in accordance with the license of the applicable OA Content Creative Commons license. You should seek prior permission from IS4OA.

In no event shall IS4OA, or its employees, ambassadors, volunteers or contractors be liable for any damages of any nature, including without limitation any consequential loss, loss of income or profit, loss of or damage to property, claims of third parties, or any other loss, cost, claim or expense of any kind or character arising out of or in connection with the use of this website, its content or any website with which it is linked. This exclusion and limitation only applies to the extent permitted by law and does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of IS4OA, its employees, ambassadors, volunteers or contractors.
